Nine field days held from August 24 until Sept. 18

August 16, 2021

Corn and beans are out and Seed Genetics Direct again host its annual field days between August 24 and Sept. 18 (see schedule below) to allow growers the opportunity to see the performance of 2021 genetics and technologies.

“The turnover for new hybrids is now quicker than ever thanks to double-haploid breeding and CRISPR technology,” said Todd Jeffries, vice president. “Some groan at the high turnover rates of new hybrids and genetics, but the yield increases over the past decade or two are real, and that’s what’s driving the new hybrids hitting the market so quickly. Field days provide the opportunity for growers to see and touch many of the new hybrids and varieties that have come out in the past year. Growers can learn about each one individually and compare it with what they are currently growing. It’s an opportunity to see the product before you buy it.”

Free and open to the all farmers, Seed Genetics Direct will provide field day attendees with pricing and savings information. SGD seedsmen will also be available to provide detailed information and answer questions regarding corn hybrids and soybean varieties. Lunch and dinner will be served at all field days.
